The Indie Bible (8th Edition) Review by Sarah Ahmed
The Indie Bible is an excellent
directory that tells you the many things every developing musician
would want
to know.
It contains numerous articles that
have been written by experts in the independent music industry,
which
will help pave the way to success for musicians who strive to
pursue a career in the industry.
One of the articles, on artist-management contracts, is by Richard
P. Dieguez, Entertainment Attorney and founder of The
Circle.
According to its editor, David Wimble, "the contacts listed
are those that will listen to independent music,
and if they like it, will present it to their readers and listeners."
The 8th Edition includes:
> 4,200 publications that will review
indie music
> 3,500 radio stations and shows that
play indie music
> 600 vendors, promotional services and
labels that
will help sell indie CDs
> 330 websites where artists can sell
their MP3s
> 500 resources and tools to help artists
gain more exposure
With a "Tips For Using The
Indie Bible" section, this guide makes it simple to understand
the steps one needs to take to succeed in the music industry.
There is also a table of contents listing the different sections
that will help one find convenient ways to get to the top. As
the book says, it will help you find "the fastest, easiest
way to manufacture and distribute your music."
