Tom Willner Inks Publishing Deal and
Performs for 10,000 in Washington, DC
Atlanta-based
recording artist, Tom Willner, signed a publishing contract with
The Music Library in Studio City, California. Willner
was represented by Richard P. Dieguez, who reviewed the
agreement. "I selected Richard...because of his experience,
his music industry seminars and connections, and his accessibility,"
explains Willner. "But mostly, I chose to work with
Richard...because...he would teach me the things I needed to
know about the music industry and always have my best interests
at heart. With my consultation, that is exactly what I
got."
The deal is for two songs: Rescue
Me and You Are My Storm. "The Music
Library is a small boutique shop, which I think is perfect for
me at this stage in my career," says Willner. The
deal also raises Willner's profile from "associate"
to "active membership" with Nashville Songwriters Association
International and other organizations.
After
signing the deal, Willner capped off the week with a Washington
DC performance in front of the Capitol before an audience of
about 10,000. The performance was part of Celebration
On The Hill, an American Cancer Society event to urge Congress
to pass better healthcare and cancer legislation. The
event resulted in 300 legislators pledging to do just that. Willner's
performance can be seen at www.celebrationonthehill.org.
