Jerry Weldon Forms Dex Jazz Inc. |
|
|
Tenor sax jazzman, Jerry Weldon,
recently hired Richard P. Dieguez to form Dex Jazz
Inc. The filing of the corporation
was the next logical step in Weldon's ever-expanding career.
A veteran of the New York Jazz scene, Weldon is described in
The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz as "a thoughtful
soloist whose subtle swing has plenty of fiber." |

Weldon's resume reads like a Who's
Who of Jazz legends. Lionel Hampton, Harry Connick,
Jr., George Benson, and Mel Tormé are just
a few of the many high-profile artists with whom he has toured
the world. |
|
|
In addition to projects on the
Concord Label and with Lincoln Center, Weldon is
a bandleader in his own right, leading ensembles at many of New
York's jazz clubs and at festivals around the U.S. He has
recorded several albums under his own name. More information
