I had a wonderful time at The Circle last night. It was my first time, but I'll be back.

Back when I released my indie record I could have gone with you as my representation but settled for legal counsel more local to me. I went with a lawyer who was very enthusiastic at my concerts. Hindsight is 20/20 - I wish I had met you - I would have chosen you. You probably would have helped me get a deal. Enthusiasm doesn't necessarily mean results.

From the first Circle meeting, I met [a woman who] works at CBS.  I sent her a package and she loved my music.  She described it as the best that she has heard from an independent in a long time and that I was radio ready.  My package got passed on to David Letterman's people and it was one step away from the hands of Paul Schaffer.  It never made it to him.  So [she] is still trying to get my material and me on the show in some capacity.  Also, [she] floated my stuff over to the Howard Stern show.  [She] is such a nice woman.  The big city, millions of things going on and she finds the time to plug my music.  The Circle is a cool thing Richard.  Thank you for providing this service and for the opportunities that you create.  You get out what you put in.

The Circle is a cool thing that goes on in New York City every month and I try to encourage people to go there.  I like to help people find new and cool avenues for getting ahead in the music biz.  New York City is not that far from Connecticut.  Is is so close and so much is there.  Us Connecticut people don't really utilize New York City to its fullest.

My gig last night at the Bitter End was great, and I forgot to mention that I met my new guitarist (who played with me last night) at the December Circle meeting.  As usual, the speakers were just great.  The Circle is still the best deal in town.  I was on an audition a couple of weeks ago, and was asked if I had an attorney.  You immediately came to mind.  Even though I don't "have" an attorney, I know who to call when I need one.  I think many members of The Circle would say the same thing.  I just relay that to you because no matter what we do for a living, we encounter our frustrations.  If The Circle ever gets to be a headache in the midst of your busy practice, I hope what I just wrote will offer some encouragement.
