What Is The Circle?
"Knowledge is not only
power, it is good fun."
E.M. Forster, English novelist
Richard P. Dieguez, The Circle's founder, is an entertainment
attorney with over 20 years of experience and a graduate of NYU
School of Law. He began his career as a corporate lawyer
at Morgan Lewis & Bockius. In addition, he has over
five years of experience managing major label talent and taught
three semesters of entertainment law at Baruch College. Mr.
Dieguez is also an active musician, performer and composer.
This experience demonstrated
to him that there is a great need for education and opportunity
within the industry that is not being met in an effective way.
To help meet this need, Mr.
Dieguez formed The Circle in April 1998 as a monthly business
forum. He intentionally designed the meetings to be a progressive,
non-elitist, motivating and fun way for talent and businesspeople
to achieve five goals: Education, Exchange, Employment,
Exposure and Encouragement in the Entertainment Industry.
The Circle is probably one of the best kept "secrets"
in the entertainment industry. The bulk of its success
is drawn from enthusiastic word-of-mouth endorsements from both
attendees and guest speakers. Indeed, attendees come
from all over the Northeast and from several nations.

Dieguez invites speakers to inform attendees about important
professional organizations, new musical products and services,

Dieguez invites VIP industry executives to share inside information

The Leader In Its Field
Over the years, The Circle has inspired other groups to
form and adopt Mr. Dieguez' down-to-earth approach. Simply
put, The Circle is the most industry-friendly forum of its kind
because it...
> has no membership requirements
> has no dues
> meets to foster continuity in building
contacts
> grows exponentially by word-of-mouth
> encourages attendees to invite their
friends
> is not driven by a profit-making motive
> only charges $15 to cover costs. Speakers
and other
participants graciously volunteer their valuable
time to
help others succeed in this very difficult business.
