Glenn Hughes

Never in his wildest dreams did a police officer named Glenn Hughes think that the audition he went to on a dare was going to lead to a 20+ year career as the "Biker" character in Village People.  Mr. Hughes and his cohorts in Village People went on to sell well over 65 million recordings (as per Dance Music Report… in 1987!).

As established Pop icons, the group has had many other stars open for them including Madonna and Joan Rivers. Even Michael Jackson co-starred with Village People in Los Angeles' Palladium.  Despite the success, Village People were not always in control of their careers.

Mr. Hughes will explain how the group became their own bosses in 1987 by forming their own corporation and bringing in a new management team.  The strategy enabled Village People to take greater control over their financial and managerial affairs and extended their careers far beyond those of many other Pop stars. As a result, since 1987, Village People have been on a nearly non-stop world tour, have expanded their international fan base to include a new young audience, and have made frequent appearances on television programs such as the Tonight Show, the Rosie O'Donnell Show, Oprah and Married with Children.

In addition, their classic hits have been popping up on dozens of recent major motion pictures including Wayne's World II, Adams Family Values and Down Periscope (starring Kelsey Grammar). This meeting of The Circle will be a rare opportunity to learn more about the entertainment business first-hand from an experienced contemporary international celebrity.
