Patrick Moxey |

As the owner of PayDay, a New York nightclub,
Patrick Moxey helped usher in the then-emerging Rap/Hip Hop scene.
Later he managed DJ Premier and Guru who formed the seminal East
Coast rap group, Gangstarr. This critically acclaimed duo went
on to produce many significant albums for other artists as well
as their own solo projects, such as Guru's Jazzmatazz series. |

Mr. Moxey is now overseeing the May 18 release
of Gangstarr's Greatest Hits double album, Full Clip: A Decade
of Gangstarr (Virgin). When he formed PayDay Records (London/PolyGram),
many successful albums were released by Jeru The Damaja, OC,
Group Home, WC (of the Westside Connection) and other new acts
developed and produced by Gangstarr. Always resourceful, Mr.
Moxey procured many deals for his artists in publishing, product
endorsement, motion picture soundtracks (e.g., Spike Lee's Crooklyn,
New Jersey Drive, and Clockers), acting, and producing/remixing. |

His extensive practical experience in artist
management and development, as well as the business skills he
sharpened as president of his own independent label, led to Mr.
Moxey's current position as Senior Vice President of A&R
at Virgin Records, one of the "Big Six" major labels.
Already, Mr. Moxey has enhanced the Virgin roster by adding Beenieman,
the world's number one selling reggae artist and is actively
seeking additional talent to sign. |
