Matt Wishnow

Are you starting or already running a management firm, booking agency, record company or publishing company? Are you a recording artist?  Want to learn more about marketing, promotion and the Internet? Then this is the seminar to attend!  Mr. Wishnow graduated from the prestigious Brown University, where he was the resident music critic for many publications.

He went on to become a Marketing Coordinator for the Elektra Entertainment Group and climbed up the ladder to become their Creative Services Director.  In 1998, Mr. Wishnow formed Insound along with partners Ari Sass, formerly of Elektra, and Christian Anthony, formerly of JP Morgan.  Their major label experience clearly established that more can be done for new artists than what was being done through traditional means.  Insound was established to help such artists reach their audience and for consumers to find new music neglected by Top 40-oriented record stores, radio stations and magazines.

As Director of Marketing, Mr. Wishnow oversees all online and offline marketing and advertising efforts, strategic planning and product development.  He cultivates and enlists the support of a wide network of like-minded consumers, artists, E-zines, Internet radio stations, and venues to maximize the shared resources of the independent community.  He manages relationships with record labels and college media, and identifies and schedules showcase events and sponsorships.  This networking helps create awareness of the company's extensive CD catalogue of long-neglected genres and new music coming up from the streets -- indie rock, indie pop, punk, noise, electronic music and everything in-between.

The Insound website features the largest database of print zine content, the first underground video streaming gallery and "Introductory Guide to Putting Out Records, Cassettes and CDs."  To help those artists who are on the road, Insound releases the Tour Support Series -- a limited edition of CD-EPs from participating artists to help them build the buzz they need.  Want to better understand how the Internet is changing the industry? Want to get a better handle of why upstart internet companies -- like AOL -- are looking to buy up traditional entertainment powerhouses -- Time-Warner?!  This is what is fueling the unprecedented bull market of the U.S. economy.  Come learn how you can be a part of it.
